  the other day my wife and i were in sonoma.

  we were just walking around enjoying the pleasant afternoon in the quaint, old downtown area when i saw two jw women standing by their “witnessing cart.” .

  normally, i just ignore them whenever i see jws standing by a cart, but i gotta admit it: this time it really bugged me because of the title on the cart: find family happiness.

  Calling All Watchtower Historians ... What was the V.F.V.?

  in the may 27, 1942 edition of the consolation, the watchtower society devoted several pages to the controversy surrounding the burial of joseph rutherford.

  in several sections, they write about "the opposition" in vague terms without much specificity as to who these other groups of people were who were supposedly persecuting them.

  one section refers to a group called v.f.v.

  don't know if this is a global thing but i've just been told by a pimo member of my old congregation that a min servant has been given the task of destroying all old books/literature in the kh library prior to 1992.. could be the elders (or even one of them) on a mission to stamp out dissent as my ex-wife used the same reasoning to her elder dad that i used in my jc: rutherfords books containing failed predictions.. anyone else heared anything?.

  the ms who's been given the task is a company man.

  no hope of him keeping them or selling them on ebay.. they have some russell books in that library too.

  Look up the hateful and hurtful background of those phrases.

  Rappers get by with those things because they belong to the group they're seemingly disparaging. (Not that I listen to or approve of their disgusting lyrics).

  Sort of like YOU can call your kids names, but no one else can.

  In 2008, Mr. Johnson apologized for his piccaninnies and watermelon remarks.

  Even though he may have resorted to sarcasm to make a point, he realized his words were hurtful.

  What may seem minor to some could have major implications for others.
